If the latest reports are anything to go by, two of the biggest stars of Telugu cinema might clash at the box office once again in September.

Buzz is that superstars Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan will be battling out with each other this September. The makers of "Aagadu" and "Govindudu Andari Vadele" are planning to release the films on 26 September, reported Times of India.

In the last two years, films of both Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan have clashed at the box office during the same festival period.

"SVSC" vs "Naayak"

In 2013, family entertainer "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu" ("SVSC") and action-packed commercial pot boiler "Naayak" competed against each other during the Sankranti festival season. Despite the clash, both the film's managed to emerge successful at the box office. Interestingly, the Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan starrers made it to the list of top 10 all time Telugu grossers (worldwide share). "SVSC", however, scored better than "Naayak."

"1 Nenokkadine" vs "Yevadu"

This year, Mahesh Babu's psychological thriller "1 Nenokkadine" clashed with Ram Charan's action flick "Yevadu" during Sankranti. "1 Nenokkadine" received critical acclaim, but failed to turn that into collections. "Yevadu", though a regular masala film, turned out to be the first big hit of 2014.

"Aagadu" vs "Govindudu Andari Vadele"

Now, there are reports doing the rounds that the superstars of Telugu cinema  are going to lock horns one more time with their upcoming projects "Aagadu" and "Govindudu Andari Vadele".

"Aagadu" is helmed by director Srinu Vaitla, who is in form with a string of hits to his credit including "Ddokudu" and "Baadshah."

Expectations are high for "Aagadu" as Mahesh Babu has teamed up with the director for the second time post the success of "Dookudu." Their upcoming project is deemed as a commercial entertainer laced with action and comedy.

Mahesh Babu reportedly plays the role of a cop in the film, while Tamannaah appears as the female lead. The film's other cast members include Rajendra Prasad, Brahmanandam, Brahmaji, Vennela Kishore and M.S. Narayana.

Music is by Thaman, cinematography is handled by K. V. Guhan and edition by M.R. Varma.

On the other hand, "Govindudu Andari Vadele" is a family drama directed by Krishna Vamsi. The film has Ram Charan, Kajal Aggarwal, Meka Srikanth, Kamalinee Mukerjee and Rajkiran in pivotal roles. Yuvan Shankar scores the songs and Sameer Reddy handles the cinematography.

If reports of a clash turn out to be true, it will be a real treat for Telugu cinema lovers. It will also be interesting to see which actor rules the box office.
