UPDATE: 11:39 a.m. IST — The class 10 or Secondary School Certificate (SSC) result 2016 will be announced at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 6, on Maharashtra Examination Results website.

Original, May 31 —

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is expected to announce the class 10 or Secondary School Certificate (SSC) result 2016 before June 8. The board has not confirmed the date but has reportedly said the SSC result will be announced early next week.

Students can check their result on the official website of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, Pune or Maharashtra Examination Results. They need to enter their roll number and mother's first name to access the mark sheet.

After several unconfirmed reports about the announcement date of SSC result surfaced in the past few weeks, MSBSHSE chairman Gangadhar Mhamane told the Indian Express that the Maharashtra board's class 10th result will be announced a couple of days before June 8.

"Such false rumours spread panic amongst students and it must be stopped immediately. Also, even if students are not successful, they should not lose heart as they can appear for supplementary exams and once cleared, they won't even have to lose a year," Mhamane told the IE.

Maharashtra SSC result 2016 will also be available on the website of Jagran Josh, where students can also register their roll number, email ID, mobile number and other details related to their board examination to receive updates on the result through SMS or email.

Maharashtra Board conducted the class 10 exams at nine Divisional Boards of Maharashtra State — Pune, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Nasik, Amravati, Nagpur, Latur and Ratnagiri.

The MSBSHSE had declared the class 12 or HSC result on May 25.
