Mumbai, Jan 20 (ANI): The Maharashtra government on Monday announced a 20 percent cut in power tariff for the industrial and agriculture classes of consumers. While the city of Mumbai is currently excluded from the cut by virtue of not being covered by the state power distribution Mahavitaran- Reliance Infra, Tata Power and BEST supply power to the city - sources say an announcement for the state capital can be expected soon as well. The state cabinet accepted the recommendations of a high-powered committee led by Narayan Rane, which suggested a 20 percent power subsidy for users for a 10-month period till the state elections in October. Congress Leader Sanjay Nirupam on Monday said that if Narayan Rane committee does not accepts the proposal for Mumbai residents then protest will continue.
