Madonna's dramatic fall at 2015 Brit Awards in London has become the butt of all jokes on Twitter.

It's not completely clear what the sequence of events were in the run up to her startling fall from what looked like a elevated podium during a performance, but at some point during her otherwise awesome performance, she went tumbling down backwards – a moment that did not stop her from continuing her performance.

The 56-year-old star was singing a song standing on the podium-like structure surrounded by her dancers before a gust of wind blew. Her cape flew back and she was uncontrollably pulled along with it, falling over a few steps and landing on her back.

The singer was belting out "living for love" at the awards show – a song which coincidentally includes the lyrics "lifted me up and watched me stumble, after the heartache I'm gonna carry on."

It has been said that the cape tied around her neck was actually supposed to loosen up and blow with the wind. However, it was tied a bit too tightly and failed to loosen up, pulling her along with it. Regardless of the fall, she calmly stood up as if nothing happened and finished the performance.

In her Instagram account she said:

"Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I'm fine! #livingforlove."

But as expected, the social-sphere, especially Twitter has gone wild over the incident and has been posting hilarious jokes and memes. Following are some of the best ones:
