The sequel is titled "Waiting for Taleju" and it will focus on the various consequences of being tied to the White House. The official synopsis of the episode read: "On the heels of the debacle with Russia, Elizabeth finds herself pushed out of the President's inner circle".

Also, when incriminating photos of Stephanie aka Stevie (Wallis Currie-Wood ) and Harrison Dalton surface, the protagonist and her husband Henry (Tim Daly) must deal with the aftermath and try to protect their daughter.

Other cast members to appear in the sequel includes Johanna Day as Admiral Ellen Hill, Julian Acosta as National Security Advisor Craig Sterling, Kathrine Herzer as Alison and Evan Roe as Jason McCord.

Meanwhile, executive producer Lori McCreary teased that the lives of McCord and family will become public "causing great consternation", according to TV Line.

But creator Barbara Hall revealed that it is a normal trajectory of a young adult and it can be considered as a recognisable behaviour. "It's not just Henry and Elizabeth who live a life of service; the whole family has to. It's just everything amped up because of her extreme circumstances," he added.
