The makers of "Madaari," starring Irrfan Khan, have released the film's trailer, and it looks promising. After "Piku" and "Talvar," Irrfan is set to entertain viewers with another brilliant performance in his upcoming film, which is based on a true story.

Directed by Nishikant Kamat, "Madaari" is based on a real-life incident due to which led to loss of lives an numerous injuries. The film deals with an event that took place at the under-construction overhead Metro bridge on the Andheri-Kurla Road in suburban Marol.

In the trailer, Irrfan is a common man who has lost his son in the incident, and kidnaps the home minister's son to take revenge. The film is quite intriguing, and the "Talvar" actor's performance will definitely give you goosebumps. After watching the trailer, one can truly understand the meaning of the tagline of the film, which says: "Sshhh...Desh so raha hai (The country is sleeping)."

Before the trailer launch, the first look and teaser of "Madaari" had made fans curious about the story. Irrfan donned a simple avatar in the first look poster, dressed in a grey kurta and blue denims, with shoes in his hands, and a head band.

The trailer was launched on May 11. Irrfan's younger son Ayaan had penned the invitation for his father's film. Watch the trailer here:

"Madaari" has been co-produced by Shailesh Singh, Madan Paliwal, Sutapa Sikdar and Shailja Kejriwal. The Nishikant Kamat directorial also features Jimmy Shergill in a pivotal role. Fans are expecting a lot from the film not just because of Irrfan, but also because of the director. Nishikant has helmed films like "Force," "Drishyam" and the award-winning Marathi movie "Lai Bhaari."

On the other hand, Irrfan will not only win hearts with his Bollywood film "Madaari" this year, but also with his Hollywood flick "Inferno" alongside Tom Hanks. The international movie has been scheduled for release on Oct. 14, while "Madaari" is slated to hit the screens on June 10. The trailer of "Inferno" was released a few days ago and Irrfan's character looked intriguing.

The "Piku" actor has also signed Bollywood films like "Divine Lovers" and "Gustakhiyan." Sai Kabir's "Divine Lovers" might star Zareen Khan opposite Irrfan, while Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Gustakhiyan" might have Priyanka Chopra opposite the "Life of Pi" actor.
