The 39th annual Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks to celebrate US Independence Day this year will feature a host of new spectacular events.

Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular this year will feature about 22 firework wonders. According to App.com's Kelly-Jane Cotter, for the fireworks at the East River, there will be new shells and effects, roaring dragons, multicoloured transformation ghosts and crescent moons.

The fireworks will start at around 9.20 pm (local time) on 4 July on the East River and the spectacle will be visible to audiences in Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn.

NBC has announced that it will be live streaming the Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks, starting 8 pm local time. The 25-minute fireworks display will be accompanied by live music performances by Kelly Clarkson, Meghan Trainor, Flo Rida, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley.

The Independence Day celebration fireworks display, designed by PyroSpectaculars, will be staged from four barges in the River between East 23rd and 37th streets, and a double barge near the Brooklyn Bridge in the South Street Seaport district.
