Duniya Vijay has teamed up with Nagashekhar of Sanju Weds Geetha fame for Maasthi Gudi (Masti Gudi). The film is bankrolled by Sundar P Gowdru. It has Sadhu Kokila's music, Satya Hegde's cinematography and Joni Harsha's editing. Kriti Kharbanda and Amulya are the two female leads in the film, which has B Jayashree, Srinivasa Murthy, HG Dattatreya, Shobhraj and others in the supporting roles.
Story:
Maasthi Gudi is based on real-life incidents and Nagashekhar has infused elements like comedy and romance to the script to make it a pure commercial entertainer. Maasthi Gudi is a semi-period film, apparently about protecting nature from the forces that try to make money at the cost of wild animals. Duniya Vijay plays Maasthi who kills tigers and destroy the forest. The film will show different phases of his life from the age of 25 to 81. What happens when powerful people crosses his path forms the crux of the story.

The movie had hit the national headlines when budding actors Anil and Uday lost their lives due to crew's negligence towards their safety while shooting an action sequence. The duo drowned in Thippagondanahalli Reservoir, 35 km west of Bengaluru, in November 2016.
Leaving the sad incident behind, the Maasthi Gudi team is now ready for the release. The makers have gone all out for the promotions and there is a good hype revolving around the flick, which will be out on Friday, May 12.
