Microsoft's #Windows10Devices launch event is set to kick off in a few hours and speculation is rife about the company's two new flagship smart phones - Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL. A popular mobile tipster, Steve Hemmerstoffer, has leaked four new images showing the new flagship phones.

The leaked images reveal several details. The new handsets will run Windows 10 OS out of the box and feature a PureView camera with ZEISS lens on the back. Interestingly, one of the images shows the Lumia 950XL featuring a removable 3,340mAh battery, dual SIM and microSD slots, Phone Arena reported.

A removable battery is seen as an extremely handy feature. Several smart-phone makers are doing away with the removable battery to reduce the thickness of the handset. But Microsoft is willing to take the high road for the sake of consumer satisfaction.

Microsoft Lumia flagships have been spotted in the past as well. Going by the earlier rumours, the Lumia 950 will sport a 5.2-inch display with Quad HD resolution, a Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal space. The device will also feature a 20-megapixel f/1.9 rear-facing camera with triple LED flash, a 5-megapixel front camera, an all-new Iris scanner and a 3,000mAh battery.

The bigger variant of the Lumia 950, the Lumia 950XL is expected to come with a 5.7-inch display with same Quad HD resolution. The processor will be a Snapdragon 810 chipset coupled with 3GB RAM. Other details such as camera and storage remain the same as the Lumia 950 but the battery will be bigger as reported in today's leak.

Microsoft's launch event is set to commence at 10am EDT in New York City (7:30pm IST) when the mystery surrounding the Lumia flagships, Surface Pro 4 and other products will be revealed. We will bring you live coverage of the event as it unfolds.
