New day, new reality show, and a shocking confession. Bigg Boss 19 winner Gaurav Khanna is basking in the success of his recent BB win and also has a couple of shows on his platter. He will now be seen in the upcoming season of Khatron Ke Khiladi.

Amid his professional success, Gaurav Khanna and his wife, Akanksha Chamola, are once again in the news over trouble in their marital life. For months, reports of their divorce have been doing the rounds on social media, but the couple has denied them time and again.

However, in a recent reality show, Lock Upp Season 2, Akanksha seemingly confessed that she and Gaurav are heading for a divorce. Yes, you heard that right.

Akanksha Chamola, in the debut episode of Netflix's reality show Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, which aired today, made the revelation. As part of her introduction, Akanksha, whose cellmates include Shreya Kalra and Shresta Iyer, was asked to reveal a secret about herself that none of the other inmates knew.

Akanksha picked an expose card and revealed that she and Gaurav are getting a divorce. She further claimed that they have been living separately for a year now.

The confession left everyone shocked, including jailors Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh.

Akanksha Chamola opens up about stepping into her first-ever reality show.

She shares that the moment she learned it was a Netflix project, saying no was never an option, as she has always admired the platform and is excited to be part of a big-scale reality experience. Akanksha says she is excited (and a little nervous) about meeting new people, especially Shivangi, and also expressed interest in Sunita Ahuja being part of the show, calling her full of fun and entertainment.

What excites her most is the "no retakes" format, where every emotion is real, raw, and seen by millions. She also admits that living in a shared space might come with challenges, especially around cleanliness and hygiene issues.

Akansha on divorce

A few months back, an Instagram post shared by Akanksha had fuelled divorce rumours.

The post read, "Jis rishte ki buniyaad mein sirf zarooratein ho, wahan dil hamesha qurbaan hota hai. (In a relationship built only on needs, it's always the heart that gets sacrificed)."

In a conversation with The Times of India, Akanksha had dismissed all divorce rumours with Gaurav Khanna.

"There is absolutely no trouble in our marriage, and the post had nothing to do with Gaurav. I am not someone who discusses personal matters on social media. The post was meant to promote my upcoming series. It was open to interpretation, but it was blown out of proportion," she had said.

Furthermore, she also addressed the trolling she faced after Gaurav Khanna said he wanted to have a child, while Akanksha was not ready to embrace motherhood.

Akanksha had said, "I am the troll queen at the moment! I have always been open about this subject. Gaurav is more guarded because he wants to protect my image. We have an age difference, and he is mature enough to understand my point of view. I have clearly said that I don't see myself choosing motherhood. It's a personal choice, and I don't feel the need to justify it to anyone."

If Akanksha's revelation on Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa is true, she and Gaurav Khanna are headed for a split after nine years of marriage.

Actor Gaurav Khanna and his wife, actress Akanksha Chamola, have an age difference of around nine to ten years. Gaurav Khanna was born in 1981 (often cited as December 11, 1980), while Akanksha Chamola was born on January 18, 1991.

Gaurav Khanna and Akanksha Chamola got married on November 24, 2016, in Gaurav's hometown of Kanpur.
