Liverpool are reportedly set to make a January move for Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy as Brendan Rodgers looks to replace the out-of-form Simon Mignolet at Anfield.

After making a bright start to his Anfield career following a £9 million move from Sunderland in the summer of 2013, Mignolet has been in very poor form of late, and this resulted in Rodgers dropping the Belgian during Liverpool's 3-0 loss to rivals Manchester United.

Now, with the Northern Irishman confirming that Mignolet has been dropped "indefinitely", Liverpool are reportedly in the hunt for a new goalkeeper in January as it is unlikely that the inexperienced Brad Jones, who conceded three goals at Old Trafford, will be made Liverpool's first choice goalkeeper for the rest of the season.

According to the Daily Mail, the Reds are reportedly considering making a move for the £8 million-rated John Ruddy, who has some experience playing in the Premier League.

Although the 28-year-old is not in the current England squad due to Roy Hodgson preferring the likes of Joe Hart, Ben Foster and Fraser Forster ahead of the Norwich goalkeeper, Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Ruddy.

Meanwhile, Rodgers feels that Liverpool's form in the English Premier League and other competition this season is due to the team lacking "team ethos."

The former Swansea boss, who nearly led Liverpool to their first English title since 1990, is currently under a lot of pressure, with the Reds getting knocked out of the Champions League and doing very poorly in the Premier League.

"We want to recapture the team ethos," Rodgers told the Guardian. "We had a team that was growing for a couple of years and has changed with injuries and whatever. It is just that emphasis on the team."

"It is pretty clear we are searching to find solutions in the game to get wins. The players are working incredibly hard. There is not a lack of effort. The attitude was first-class but, when you are not winning as consistently, the feelings are a little bit different but you want to get wins and concentrate on your performances."
