12.57 pm: Xperia Z3 Plus will be available for ₹55,990 from 26 June. With the handset, Sony is bundling a quick wireless charger, which costs ₹3,490

12.51 pm: Xperia Z3 Plus features adaptive brightness in its display to offer better color luminance that effectively brightens the darkrer part of an image so as to enhance the image quality under brightly-lit conditions. There is rear gorilla glass protection at the front too.

12.47 pm: Sony claims 2930 mAh battery of Z3 Plus will offer 2 days of battery life.

To gain a strong foothold in the mid-budget smartphone market, Sony has been releasing its water resistant devices one after another.

Following its Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia C4, Sony is widely expected to unleash it's next smartphone Xperia Z3 Plus in Delhi in some time.

The Xperia Z3 Plus has already been launched in the international market, so the specs are already known. But, tech enthusiasts are still in the dark about the device's price and availability in India. We will keep updating the live blog as the event progressses.

Sony Xperia Z3 Plus boasts a 5.2-inch display with 1,080x1,920 pixels IPS display. Measuring 146.3x71.9mm, the smartphone has a thickness of 6.9mm. Weighing 144g, it is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor that combines one 2GHz quad-core processor, one 1.5GHz quad-core processor along with an Adreno 430 GPU.

The device is backed by a 3GB RAM, 32GB Built-in storage expandable up to 128GB through Micro SD card. Xperia Z3 Plus also comes with a 20.7mp rear camera that is capable of zooming up to 8X and shoot 4K videos. For the front, Sony Xperia Z3 Plus comes with a 5mp camera. Powered by a 2,930mAh battery, the Sony Xperia Z3 Plus comes with IP68 certification.

The smartphone is available in four colour variants: copper, black, white and aqua green. It offers all the necessary connectivity options, including NFC, aGOS, Bluetooth 4.1, Miracast and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.
