"Limitless", one of the most-awaited shows to air on CBS, premieres on Tuesday (22 September). The series is based on the 2011 fast-paced drama of the same name, starring Bradley Cooper.
Set four years after the events of the movie, the series stars Jake McDorman as Brian Finch who discovers the brain-boosting power of the mysterious drug NZT and is coerced by the FBI into using his extraordinary cognitive abilities to solve complex cases for them. Bradley Cooper, who will reprise his role of Senator Edward Morra in future episodes, is also the executive producer, along with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.
The official synopsis of the pilot episode reads:
Brian Finch's life takes an extraordinary turn when he uses a mysterious drug, NZT, that allows him to access his full brain capacity. However, when an NZT-related murder lands Brian on the FBI's radar, he uses the drug in an attempt to stay ahead of the authorities long enough to clear his name, on the series premiere of Limitless.
Giving further insight into the plot of the series, CBS explains that FBI Agent Rebecca Harris, a formidable investigator with a dark past and Agent Boyle, a former military officer and Rebecca's confidante, will work closely with Brian. While all this is happening, Rebecca believes that Brian may not be the criminal everyone suspects him to be.
The conspiracy soon catches the attention of Senator Edward Morra, who shares a "clandestine relationship" with Brian and throws him a lifeline. Now Brian is administered a steady supply of NZT and is more effective than all of the FBI agents combined.
Watch Brian Finch become criminals' worst nightmare and FBI's biggest asset in the series premiere of "Limitless" on 22 September, 10pm on CBS.
