Last month, OnePlus announced it would release the limited edition OnePlus X Ceramic model on 24 November.

Staying true to its word, the company (via Twitter) has confirmed that the flagship mid-range phone will indeed go on sale on Tuesday, provided the buyers in Europe and India have valid invites.

However, the OnePlus X Ceramic sale is not likely the stay open for long as there will be only 10,000 units up for grabs.

In India, OnePlus X Ceramic will be exclusively available on Amazon for Rs. 22,999 -- Rs 6,000 more than the regular black (Onyx) model.

For the uninitiated, the ceramic model is made of zirconia (zirconium dioxide) imported from Australia, which is usually utilised as a substitute for diamond in jewelleries.

The company claims that the raw zirconia is baked at a temperature of 1,480ºC for 28 hours, and this process is repeated until the ceramic is of the utmost quality. After cooling and settling for two days, three polishing treatments are applied for an immaculate, smooth finish. The surface, bezels, and details of the ceramic are repeatedly treated until it meets highest standard. Hence, the huge price difference between the regular model.

Under-the-hood, Ceramic variant features same hardware seen in the black model. It ships with the 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core SoC (System on Chip), 3GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory and 2525 mAh battery, which is enough to run the phone for the whole day.

It also boasts 13MP camera with ISOCELL 3M2 CMOS sensor, PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus), f/2.2 aperture, LED flash, full HD video recording. And an 8MP front snapper with OV8858 sensor and f/2.4 aperture.
