LG is looking to make a dent in the budget smartphone market by slashing prices of two of its mid-range phones, L Bello and L Fino. With the new pricing, the tech firm aims to take on its rivals offering great phones at cheap prices.
When the new prices take effect in India, LG L Bello will see a sweet price cut of ₹5,250 while L Fino model's price will be down by ₹3,800. LG India's online retail store is yet to reflect the new prices.
After the price cut, the high-end L Bello will cost ₹13,250 and L Fino will sell for ₹10,700, challenging all major budget smartphones under ₹15,000.
"With a refreshed price strategy, we are now offering L Bello and L Fino smartphones, to a wider range of consumer segment, for increasing the adoption of premium design and consumer experiences derived by LG on even mid-segment smartphones," Amit Gujral, Marketing Head, LG Mobiles, India said in a statement, reports NDTV.
Both smartphones are heavily packed with impressive features. Both L Bello and L Fino reflect the company's best design and UX features that were introduced in G3 smartphone.
Key highlights are Touch and shoot to capture images with a single touch; Gesture Shot to capture images by simply opening and closing a hand in front of the lens and Front Camera Light to get bright selfies even in low-light conditions.
Other flagship features in the two mid rangers include company's proprietary Knock Code, Smart Keyboard, Guest Mode, Quick Circle, Capture Plus, Easy Home, QSlide and QuickMemo+.
In terms of specifications, LG's L Bello is slightly better than the L Fino.
L Bello features a bigger 5-inch FWVGA IPS display compared to 4.5-inch WVGA IPS display in the L Fino. Both phones have dual-SIM support, 1GB RAM, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and support for 3G networks.
In L Bello, the front camera is slightly better at 1MP compared to L Fino's VGA shooter. There's a 2,540mAh battery in the L Bello while L Fino packs only a 1,900mAh battery.
L Bello beats L Fino in the built-in storage capacity with 8GB but both phones support microSD cards up to 32GB, so that shouldn't be a major setback.
Even though LG's official pricing of the handset remains unchanged, Flipkart is selling both the phones at discounted price. L Bello can be bought for ₹12,990 and L Fino for just ₹10,438 from Flipkart.
