LG has been stealing the limelight at the CES 2016 with exciting announcements like a rollable OLED display and OLED 4K TVs. Despite a busy schedule, LG took out time to announce a new line of smartphones dubbed as K series. The two new affordable phones in the K series, K7 and K10, offer advanced camera tech and premium design. These phones are the first to feature LG's glossy pebble design language, according to LG.

In an official press release, LG detailed the specifications of the K10 and K7 smartphones and explained their premium styling strategy. The K10 and K7 smartphones have also been praised for their advanced camera tech, which has similarities with some flagship devices like G3, G4 and G-Flex.

Design

The LG K10 and K7 smartphones are the first in the company's new K series, which succeeds the popular L series. The affordable smartphones have an impressive design, much inclined towards high-end devices. The K series smartphones are the first to feature LG's glossy pebble design language, complete with stylish looks, 2.5D Arc Glass and a curved finish. The rear of both phones has an attractive woven finish, which offers good grip and also looks classy enough to appeal to younger buyers. The sides of the phones are button-free, placing the volume and power buttons at the back, just below the camera module.

"Our 2016 K Series is the latest example of LG applying its best mobile technology and premium design philosophy across numerous smartphone categories. Customers equate the LG name with great smartphone imaging technology and we are committed to delivering on that flattering expectation," Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG, said in a statement.

Camera

The LG K10 and K7 smartphones borrow some useful cues from the flagship lineup for their camera UI and some popular gestures. One of the highlights of these devices is the front LED flash, which delivers better-quality selfies even in low light.

LG K10 smartphone comes in two variants — 4G LTE and 3G — which have slightly different camera specs. The 4G variant of the K10 smartphone sports a 13-megapixel primary camera while the 3G model gets an 8MP snapper. Both variants either feature an 8MP front snapper or 5MP camera depending on the markets. There is an LED flash on both sides of the phone.

The K7 smartphone also comes in 4G LTE or 3G variants. The primary camera in the 4G variant is 8MP and the 3G model features a 5MP snapper. There is a 5MP front camera with LED flash standard on both models.

Both phones support Gesture Shot, tap and shot and gesture interval shot features.
