South Korean technology major LG on Sunday unveiled their much-anticipated G Pad 8.3 tablet, just days ahead of the international electronics trade show IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) 2013 which is scheduled to kick-off on 6 September.

"Complementing our G Series smartphones, the introduction of the LG G Pad 8.3 further strengthens LG's premium lineup consisting of our most cutting-edge devices," said Dr Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

"Our G Pad is just another example of LG delivering devices with the unique selling points consumers around the world will appreciate," he added.

LG G Pad 8.3 sports a full HD (1920x1200p) WUXGA display having pixel density of 271 ppi (pixels per inch) and runs on Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS with 2GB RAM and 16GB eMMC memory.

It packs Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 series quad-core processor with 1.7GHz CPU speed and houses a 5.0-megapixel camera on the rear side. On the front side, it flaunts a 1.3-megapixel secondary camera.

In terms of user interface, LG G Pad comes preloaded with QPair app which allows users to connect to multiple devices (smartphone and other tablets having Android Jelly Bean OS). Once connected, this app transfers calls and message details on the smartphone to G Pad 8.3 and users can send simple replies (only text) via LG tablet itself.

The G Pad 8.3 tablet will be showcased at the IFA Berlin 2013. It will be soon be released in major markets of North America, Asia and other select regions in the fourth quarter. Price of the device is expected to be revealed during the launch.
