Chinese technology major Lenovo has launched the much awaited Vibe X3 series handsets in Beijing.

Prior to the launch, Vibe X3 received a lot of media attention over its leaked images, which showed Motorola's hand in the device's design. It looked strikingly identical to Moto series in terms of the exterior look.

Lenovo acquired Motorola Mobility from Google in 2014 and just few months ago, and moved the company's whole mobile business to Motorola, owing to the decline in profits. It is believed that all the future Lenovo mobile devices will, therefore, be designed by Motorola engineers.

With the official announcement, Vibe X3 indeed does look similar to the 2015 Moto series phones. The new Lenovo device features two dual front speakers, one on the top and another at the bottom. An elongated oval-shaped metal strip featuring camera and LED flash on the back has an uncanny resemblance to the 2015 Moto series devices.

A key difference is that the 5.5-inch Vibe X3 sereis has multi-grille speakers on the front and the metal strip on the back has a finger-print sensor, whereas the Moto series come with single-grill speakers and the rear-side metal houses Motorola's trademark batwing insignia at the center.

As far as internal hardware is concerned, Vibe X3 comes with full HD display, Snapdragon Hexa-core processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB/64GB inbuilt memory, 3600 mAh battery, 21MP camera on the rear-side and 8MP snapper on the front.

Besides the normal Vibe X3 series, Lenovo has also unveiled Youth edition. It is a watered down version of the former model. It features 2GB RAM, MediaTek's Octa-core processor, 13MP camera, 5MP front-camera and 3400 mAh battery.
