Lenovo is set to start the first sale of its newly-launched Vibe K5 Plus in India exclusively on Flipkart starting Wednesday, March 23, noon. Dubbed as the "Knockout Smarpthone," the Vibe K5 Plus packs premium features like aluminium body, Dolby Atmos and 1080p display at an affordable price point.

Lenovo has decided not to follow the flash sale model to sell its Vibe K5 Plus, allowing buyers to directly log in to Flipkart and order the handset March 23. The Vibe K5 Plus is priced at Rs 8,499, which is a cheaper alternative to handsets like Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Coolpad Note 3, LeEco Le 1s, Lenovo K4 Note, but at the cost of some missing features.

Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus lacks a fingerprint scanner and has a smaller battery compared to the aforementioned rivals. For the price, it offers a 5-inch full HD display with 441ppi, premium aluminium cover with RF radiation shield on the back and Dolby Atmos integration on its twin stereo speakers.

Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus is powered by a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, expandable up to 128GB. The handset has a 13MP primary camera with OV13850 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 5-element physical lens, LED flash and a 5MP front snapper with f/2.8 aperture, 4-piece lens with auto beautification app.

The dual-SIM smartphone has a 2,750mAh interchangeable battery, which the company claims to deliver up to 32 hours of 2G talk time. Like the Lenovo K4 Note, the Vibe K5 Plus works with TheaterMax VR set.

The Vibe K5 Plus is a successor to Lenovo A6000 and not the K4 Note as some reports had suggested. Given the specifications of the Vibe K5 Plus, it certainly upholds the true value of succeeding the once-popular A6000 smartphone.

Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus will be available in champagne gold, graphite gray and platinum silver during its open sale.
