After more than half a year since the official launch, Lenovo has finally decided to bring its all-metal K5 Note smartphone to the Indian shores as demand for premium budget smartphones is at its peak in the country. The Chinese smartphone giant announced on Twitter on Friday that the K5 Note will arrive on July 20.

"You don't have to worry about a 'house-full' when you have the best seat in the house," Lenovo India tweeted. "The #KillerNote5 is coming."

Lenovo K5 Note is more suitable to take on its rivals than the company's K3 Note and K4 Note, which did well in the market but also faced stiff competition from the likes of LeEco's Le 1s, Le 1s Eco and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. While Lenovo opted for non-metallic bodies in its phones, its rivals chose premium-grade metal structures along with competitive features and prices to win over consumers.

Lenovo is retaliating with one of its strongest devices, Lenovo K5 Note, suitable enough to be pitted against all major sub-Rs. 15,000 smartphones in the market. Lenovo K5 Note was launched in January in China, around the same time the K4 Note was made available in India. It was quite obvious the company did not launch the K5 Note in India to avoid clashing with its own K4 Note's success.

Lenovo K5 Note's China release gives us a closer look on the specifications and the features as well as hints at the price. The device was launched in China for ¥1099, which roughly translates to Rs. 11,310. It's safe to assume that the K5 Note will be priced around Rs. 12,000 when launched in India next week.

In terms of specifications, the K5 Note sports a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display with 441ppi, a 13MP primary camera with PDAF and f/2.2 aperture, and an 8MP front snapper. The premium smartphone is powered by a 1.8GHz MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor, 3GB RAM and a 3,500mAh battery.

The K5 Note offers 16GB onboard storage along with an option to expand up to 128GB using microSD cards. The full metal body houses a fingerprint scanner at the back of the device and the device weighs 150 grams. Lenovo K5 Note supports dual SIM, VoLTE, 4G LTE and comes with Wolfson WM8281 audio codec based ear-phones and Dolby Atmos audio system with surround sound feature. The handset runs Android 5.1 Lollipop based Vibe 2.5 UI.
