The Legend Of The Blue Sea fans can expect a major twist in the storyline when the show returns with episode 9 next Wednesday, December 14. Since the Korean mini-series will be halfway through, it might feature troubled moments for the two onscreen couples Shim Chung and Heo Joon-jae as well as Se-hwa and Kim Dam-ryeong.
In episode 8, the period drama took its viewers through a roller-coaster of events and left many questions for the viewers. Apart from featuring the evil intentions of Jo Nam-doo, Cha Si-ah and Kang Seo-hee, it also teased a split for the protagonists.
The eighth episode showed the senior conman stealing a pearl from the female lead's black plastic bag and sarcastically telling her that she is a mysterious person. Will he discover her mermaid secrets in the ninth episode?
Meanwhile, the sequel also focused on the junior university researcher's quest for Heo Joon-jae's mother and hit man Ma Dae-young's failed murder attempt against the male lead. Will they succeed in their mission?
However, the most important part of the episode was the two mermaids' decision to go back to the ocean after realising that they can never get their happy ending and their human lovers attempt to stop them. While the village head requested the golden-tailed mermaid not to erase his memory again, the conman admitted his feeling to the silver-tailed mermaid and asked her to stay back with him.
After watching the shocking cliffhanger of episode 8 that teased a split for both the power couples, the viewers are finding it difficult to wait for the ninth episode. But SBS is yet to release the trailer and teaser images for it. So, the fans will have to wait a little longer for any official updates regarding the lead protagonists of the mini-series.
Meanwhile, the last scene of episode 8 that featured a lip-lock scene between Se-hwa and Kim Dam-ryeong indicate that the mermaid will once again erase the memory of her lover. Since Shim Chung and Heo Joon-jae are experiencing the same incidents, they might also part ways in the upcoming episode.
