India has become the primary market for most OEMs out there and it's only a matter of time before futuristic products make their way here. After a major disruption in the smartphone space, the television market in India is up for a big change. Among several brands that have launched their TVs in India, LeEco (formerly known as Letv) has made a significant impact with its all-new Super3 smart TVs.

LeEco launched three 4K smart TVs in India, namely Super3 X55, Super3 X65 and Super3 Max65. All these smart TVs target the most premium televisions in the market, but their pricing makes it easier for anyone to buy it.

We received the Super3 X65 smart TV for review during the launch, but also had the chance to briefly check out the Super3 X55, which is the company's base model in India, and the premium 3D-enabled Super3 Max65.

We already covered the pricing and the specifications of all the Super3 TVs, and here we are going to talk about the Super3 X65 and whether it is worthy of your investment or not.

LeEco Super3 X65's design is flawless and unique. Its 65-inch flat screen size sits atop a metal base, which alone weighs about 25kgs. The total weight of the Super3 X65 is around 50kgs, but do not get fooled by its design, which tells a different story altogether.

LeEco Super3 X65 adds more value to your posh lifestyle with its mesmerising design."

LeEco Super3 X65 comes with 4K UHD resolution, LG IPS display and 178-degree wide viewing angle, which comes in handy while watching the television from extreme corners. The colours are vivid and clear, which isn't surprising as it has a wide colour gamut of up to 85 percent NTSC. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with Mali GPU for graphics and has 3GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage.

As for the sound, the TV comes with Dolby Digital and Plus and DTS-HD premium, which is suffice to cover a large living room. To add more, you can always connect external home theatre speakers for that additional boom.

But the Super3 X65 isn't all about the looks. We had the chance to dive into the details of the Super3 X65 and everything we saw was nothing less than impressive. LeEco has armoured its Super3 TV series with its content ecosystem, which gives it an edge over the rivals.

LeEco Super3 X65 is beauty with the brain."

While most smart TVs give access to the free web, LeEco's Super3 X65 brings on board its content ecosystem, which has free movies, TV shows, music, live concerts and more. Currently, the LeEco content is limited, but by the end of this year, the company has aimed to fill its gallery with a lot more entertainment across different genres.

LeEco is offering content from Levidi, Live, LeView and Eros Now, so you are never left out of options even without a Dish connection. To get more content, you can always browse the Internet and start streaming.

We tested our review unit with 50Mbps speed and depending upon wireless signals, the content played without any hiccups. The TV has built-in speed tester to check if there is any issue with the Internet due to which some content might buffer. Most of the times, the content through Levidi, Live and Eros Now played without buffering. The consumption of data was controlled as the Super3 X65 is designed to consume less data while delivering high-quality content, which is quite welcoming for a market such as India.

But if you wish to watch content offline, there are 2 USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0 port to attach external storage devices from the right side of the television. There is also a HDMI port and VGA PC-input to connect laptops or PCs. We did not test the television for its gaming performance, but it will support all next-gen consoles and there is Bluetooth to connect earphones wirelessly while playing games.

Finally, like all Super3 TVs, the X65 model also comes with a smart SuperRemote, which is simple to use and accurately controls the TV from different angles. There is also a gyro sensor built into the remote, so that it can be used as a mouse or gamepad to control connected devices. Also, if you own a LeEco Superphone, there is a built-in remote app in the phone to control your television as long as both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.

Verdict

At Rs. 99,790, Super3 X65 is a steal if you are comparing against brands like Samsung, LG, Sony and others. It offers vast library of entertainment content, which is bound to increase its offerings in the coming months. The future-ready tech used in the X65 certainly makes it for a safe investment. The design of the TV and its clarity is worth the price. But, for a market such as India, LeEco is bargaining on a premium scale. After sales service will remain a challenge, but the 24x7 customer support will give assurance to customers who are writing a huge cheque.
