Less than few days before the Apple event kick-offs, snapshot of a packaging box, believed to be that of iPhone 5S, has surfaced online with the fingerprint scanner feature on the home button.

Chinese blog C Technology has leaked out the purported picture of the iPhone 5S packaging box. The iPhone 5S seen on the artwork of the container shows a circular silver-lined home button. Many believe it to be the long-rumoured fingerprint sensor feature. [To view the iPhone 5S packing box, Click Here

It is the first photo evidence to surface out in the open, ever since rumours of the fingerprint scanner in iPhone 5S hit headlines a few months ago. However, going by look of the picture, it is hard to judge if the snapshot is authentic or one of those masterpieces by Photoshop. Hence, it is better not to jump to conclusion since it is only a couple of more days for Apple to officially confirm the specifications of its next-generation iPhone.

The upcoming iPhone 5S will reportedly sport a 4.0-inch screen with IGZO display technology and run on iOS v7.0 powered by the new Apple A7 quad-core processor with 1GB RAM.

Apart from the fingerprint sensor on the home button, the premium metal-clad smartphone is said to flaunt a stunning 13.0-megapixel camera on the rear side with dual-LED flash support to enable users get good pictures in a low-light environment. Apple is expected sell iPhone 5S in three variants - White, Gold Champagne and Black (Graphite grey).

The Apple event which is scheduled to kick-off on 10 September is also expected to witness the launch of the company's first ever low-cost smartphone variant - iPhone 5C. It is said to sport a 4.0-inch display with 1136x640p resolutions and run on the new iOS v7.0 powered by a dual-core Apple A5 processor with 1GB RAM. Other expected features inlcude an 8.0-megapixel camera on the rear side and 1.2-megapixel snapper on the front.

The cheaper iPhone is rumoured to ship with a plastic (tough polycarbonate based material) shell in multiple colour options, consisting of blue, red, green, white and yellow.

Word on the street is that iPhone 5C would be sold as a mid-range device with a price-tag of around $400 (without contract), around ₹26,000. Coming to the Indian market, if the rupee continues to sink against the US dollar, the final price may go up further north.
