Panaji, Nov 09 (ANI): Former Goa Health Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has been sworn in as the state's next Chief Minister after Manohar Parrikar. Parsekar took oath as the chief minister of the state and pledged to work for the welfare of the state and abide by the norms and duties ensued on him. He was administered oath by state Governor Mridula Sinha at Raj Bhawan in Panaji. Parsekar was earlier chosen unanimously as the chief ministerial candidate after a legislature party meeting. Manohar Parrikar, who is expected to become the next Defence Minister of the country, earlier resigned as Goa Chief Minister. With Parrikar's resignation, the entire state cabinet comprising 12 ministers was dissolved and the fresh cabinet also took oath along with the new chief minister.
