New Delhi, July 29 (ANI): Law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad convened meeting of former judges and eminent jurists and sought their opinion on a panel that would appoint judges. Earlier, Prasad told parliament that the government was keen to set up a committee to appoint judges in wake of allegations of judicial corruption by a former Supreme Court Judge, Justice Markandey Katju. Prasad said there was an overwhelming opinion to amend the present system where collegiums of five Supreme Court judge appoints their colleagues.
