Voice actor Nolan North, best known for voicing the character of Nathan Drake from the Uncharted series, may have done the perfect PR job for Naughty Dog (albeit unwillingly) by hinting that a sequel to the previously released The Last of Us is in the works.

North, who also played the short character of David in the first edition of The Last of Us, was present at the Metrocon panel earlier this month. While speaking to the audience at the event, North revealed that he knows that The Last of Us 2 is currently in development.

The revelation about the upcoming game, which will bring a lot of joy to the fans of the original apocalyptic survival-horror, was made while North was responding to a question about whether he is currently linked with more projects with the Last of Us developer Naughty Dog.

"For now I know they're doing Last of Us 2, but my character in Last of Us kind of met an untimely demise," North said before being interrupted by an audience member, complaining about spoilers for the original game. Here's a full transcript of what North had to say at the event.

Earlier, at the Indy PopCon event, which took place over the weekend, another video game voice actor Troy Baker, who played one of the game's lead characters, said he knew nothing about a Last of Us sequel when asked about it.

"Okay, so I'm... And by the way I know nothing," he said. "I don't know if we're gonna do another one or not. If we do, then I trust Neil [Druckmann, creative director] and Bruce [Straley, game director] and everyone at Naughty Dog to tell a story that needs to be told."

While we will still wait for something official regarding The Last of Us sequel from Naughty Dog, it's interesting to point out that at least one character artist at Secret Six, a studio known for creating outsourced art for videogames, has already listed The Last of Us 2 as a current project.

And in case you are still wondering, Secret Six was responsible for creating the art for the original The Last of Us.

Stay tuned for more updates!
