Lady Gaga recently sparked rumours that she was pregnant with boyfriend Taylor Kinney's child when the singer was spotted flaunting what resembled a baby bump.

Pregnancy rumours started doing the rounds after the singer was spotted in New York in a red gown that flaunted a little paunch, and according to the Daily Star, she was constantly placing a protective hand on her tummy.

Gaga has been dating "Chicago Fire" star Taylor Kinney since 2011, and a few months back she revealed to Parade magazine that she had plans to start a family. This was after the 28-year-old went through a rough patch in her career, and considered giving up music forever.

But jazz legend Tony Bennett, with whom she has released a new album, changed her decision.

"I thought I did [want kids immediately], because I was feeling kind of finished with all of the chaos of my life," Gaga told Parade. "But then I started to spend a lot more time with Tony, and everything just became simpler, more pure, and more perfect. Now I think I'm going to take a lot more time before I have kids and settle down. I just want to sing."

Meanwhile, a representative for the singer has quashed pregnancy rumours, and Gaga herself stepped out in a figure flattering onesie that showed no signs of a bump. And because Gaga has been public about her battle with fluctuating weight, many have since concluded that the paunch was the result of fat accumulation, and not pregnancy.

Since the age of 15, Gaga has been dealing with bulimia and anorexia, and when haters started targeting her for her fluctuating weight gain, she launched a body revolution movement in 2012 to encourage body acceptance.

"My mother and I created the BORN THIS WAY FOUNDATION for one reason: 'to inspire bravery.' This profile is an extension of that dream. Be brave and celebrate with us your 'perceived flaws,' as society tells us. May we make our flaws famous, and thus redefine the heinous," Gaga wrote in a blog post, launching the Body Revolution movement.
