Kriti Sanon recently featured in a photoshoot for Cosmo India, which ended up irking a lot of people. The reason being Kriti was seen posing with a taxidermied giraffe hanging from the ceiling.

Although Kriti looked stunning in the photoshoot, the actress and the magazine got vehemently criticised as many found the picture disturbing. The photoshoot was done at Aynhoe Park, which is popular for preserving several taxidermied animals.

It is clear that the giraffe was not real but a dummy, and the magazine clarified it with the caption on the post. Cosmo stated that no animals were harmed in the act, and explained what does taxidermy mean.

"I'm not someone who gets angry easily, but when I read about atrocities against women, it really upsets me." Meet our cover girl @kritisanon being her candid self in our August issue.
PS: Aynhoe Park features taxidermy, hundreds of years old, most from museums. Taxidermy is the art of preserving an animal that died of natural causes, for academic purposes. The giraffe featured here is floating (not hanging, heavens no!) with balloons on its back. An art installation, in what is possibly one of the eclectic yet most majestic mansions in the world.
PPS: Cosmo loves, no, is obsessed with animals. We were, possibly, the first magazine in India to ban the featuring of fur, three years ago. No animals were harmed before, during, or after this shoot. [sic]."

However, this did not help much, as series of comments started pouring in, slamming the magazine and Kriti for allegedly encouraging animal cruelty. While most of them found the photo disturbing, many others on social media trolled the actress with funny comments.

Later, Kriti made a statement, saying that she loves animals. "It was a normal photoshoot in a palace kind of hotel in London. The décor was in the wildlife zone. It's all fake. I am an animal lover," she told media after the controversy.
