Hyundai Motor Company-owned Kia Motors teased the image of its upcoming SUV that will be unveiled at the 2016 North American International Auto Show. The famous Detroit motor show will begin on 11 January this year.

At the moment, the information on the SUV is scarce. The teaser picture throws some light on the design. The vehicle is expected to be a seven seater full size SUV with prominent shoulder line and vertical tail lights. The five spoke alloys wheels are unique in design and the wheel arches are beefy. The picture also reveals front fender vents, metallic window surrounds and a tailgate-mounted spoiler. Other noticeable features include roof rails and striking paint job. Like shelf doors, the door handles of first and second row has been positioned together.

Kia said in a statement that the design of the concept SUV conceived at the automaker's California design studio. The concept will offer advanced technology, including health-and-wellness technology of Kia. The SUVs design will also take Kia's design language in a new direction, suggesting styling of a possible future premium large SUV in the brand's line-up.

The new SUV concept is part of KIA's new product launches streamlined for 2016 as the company continues to reshape its design direction under the guidance of Peter Schreyer, who took control of Hyundai and Kia design in 2006.
