KFC Hong Kong has released an edible nail polish aimed at all the chicken-loving nail biters of the world. The two flavours currently being trialled with the public are Original Recipe and Hot and Spicy.

KFC teamed up with advertisers Ogilvy and Mather and the food techies at McCormick to create the new flavoured polishes. The Hong Kong public have been teased with the release of the chicken-y polish for a fortnight before it was unveiled this week.

Consumers are being asked to vote on which flavour they prefer, with the winner going into mass production later in the year. The Original Recipe flavour is a nude-coloured polish while the Hot and Spicy is orange.

A statement from KFC gave the instructions: To use, consumers simply apply and dry like regular nail polish, and then lick – again and again and again. No word yet as to whether the unique products will come to UK shores. For now the trial in Hong Kong continues.
