The education department of Kerala has been hitting the headlines of late for all the wrong reasons right from re-publishing the SSLC results to the delay in the distribution of textbooks.

Even though the academic year began 1.5 months before, more than 4 lakh students haven't received textbooks yet; and this had even sparked protests in various parts of the state.

Now, engineer Moju Mohan from Thrissur has developed a mobile application, where students of all classes can digitally access their textbooks easily. This is the fourth mobile application developed by Moju.

Named as Paada Pusthakam, the 9.70 MB app can be downloaded from Google Play Store for Android devices.

The handbooks for teachers and guides for students are also available in the app. Apart from all this, helpline numbers and other contact details of education ministry can also be accessed through the new app.

"This app provides easy accessibility of education department of Kerala. Application mainly focuses on satisfying students and their parents. Save your time rather waiting for textbook and achieve your service in spot. This app also provides all online education services, textbook downloads, SCERT services, helpline numbers and so on," according to the description of Paada Pusthakam app.

Meanwhile, Moju has been receiving positive responses for it.

"The work u hav done is quite appreciable. As the Govt of Kerala is still keenly busy with the controversies and not capable of preventing all those and seems not interested about our future generation, the step u have taken is noticeable,(sic)" says a user of the mobile app.

After facing criticism from many for not providing books on time even as Onam festival is around the corner, Education minister PK Abdu Rabb has postponed the exams to 7-15 September after the festival.
