Alappuzha, June 09 (ANI): Southwest monsoon rains reached southern coast few days later than usual, offering relief from the soaring mercury to the residents eagerly waiting for the start of the wet season. The monsoon which entered India from Kerala continued with its rain spreading across the state amid predictions of below-normal monsoon this year with rainfall projected to be 95 percent. Some residents of Alappuzha welcomed the heavy downpour but for people living in the low lying districts the onset of monsoon season is a worry.
