A disturbing incident at a petrol pump in Kerala's Alappuzha has gone viral on social media after a WagonR driver allegedly drove away while the fuel nozzle and dispenser hose were still attached to the vehicle.
The incident took place at a petrol pump near Pakki Junction in Alappuzha. CCTV footage from the station shows the attendant attempting to remove the nozzle when the car suddenly moved forward.
Petrol pump attendant dragged by moving car
As the WagonR moved ahead, the connected hose became taut and pulled the attendant off his feet. The worker was dragged several metres before the hose eventually separated from the vehicle.
The attendant, identified in reports as 52-year-old Ramachandran, suffered rib injuries in the accident and was taken to Alappuzha Medical College for treatment.
The CCTV footage of the incident has since been widely shared on social media, with the visuals sparking concern over safety and negligence at petrol pumps.

The footage shows how quickly the situation turned dangerous as the vehicle moved while the fuel hose was still connected. The incident has prompted social media users to stress the importance of drivers waiting until the attendant has completely removed the nozzle before driving away.

Some online reactions also questioned whether the driver was aware that the hose was still attached. However, reports available so far do not establish the driver's intention.
