Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters are making calculated signings when it comes to foreign players. The Sachin Tendulkar co-owned Blasters have announced their record tenth foreign player ahead of ISL 2016, thus steadily reinforcing all departments of their team.

Kerala Blasters clash swords with NorthEast United FC in the opening match of ISL 2016 on October 1 at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati.

The Kochi-based outfit came close to lifting the ISL title in the first season, but lost out to Atletico de Kolkata in the final. In 2015, they stood rockbottom in the league, shocking many. This time around, they are making sure not to have any loopholes when it comes to preparations for ISL 2016.

Kerala Blasters appointed a fresh coach this time around as they look for an improved campaign in ISL 2016. Steve Coppell, a Manchester United veteran, who played from 1975 to 1983, has been appointed as the manager of the ISL side.

The key players who have been retained by the side this time around include midfielder Josu (Spain), forward Antonio German (England) and Indian defensive stalwart Sandesh Jhingan.
