EXO – South Korean Chinese boy band under SM Entertainment, BTS – Seven-member boy group under Big Hit Entertainment, Red Velvet – five-member girl group under SM Entertainment, TWICE – nine-member girl group under JYP Entertainment, Wanna One – 11-member boy group formed by CJ E&M, Seventeen – 13-member boy band under Pledis Entertainment, MAMAMOO – four-member girl group formed by Rainbow Bridge World and GFRIEND – six-member girl group formed by Source Music.

This year, the event will be held in the format of a mini-concert blending with the theme Concert and Confessions. Each participating team will be given the opportunity to put on special performances on stage.

"It was decided in a rush that it will be held, so there is a lot that has to be prepared. It will be focused on individual stages from artists, and it is likely that there will be less artists than last year. It can be seen as somewhat of an expanded version of the Music Bank end-of-year episode," a KBS representative said.
