The makers of Salman Khan-Prabhu Deva film have confirmed that Katrina Kaif has not been signed in to play the female lead.

After the super successful crime-thriller "Wanted", Salman will once again team up with Prabhu Deva in the film, which is set to commence next year. It was rumoured that Katrina will play the female lead in this new film touted by another action-masala entertainer in the likes of "Wanted".

But the film's producers from Tips have revealed that Katrina has not been signed for the film. "We have not signed Katrina for the film. We have not thought of who the leading lady will be opposite Salman. We are still working on the script. The story is not yet completed," Ramesh Taurani of Tips was quoted as saying by the Press Trust of India.

Salman and Katrina were last seen in 2012-blockbuster film "Ek Tha Tiger". The chemistry between the two leading stars was one of the highlights of the film. Fans are now waiting to see them together on the big screen once again. But it seems they need to wait a little longer for that to happen.

Salman is busy with his upcoming projects, including Arbaz Khan's "Mental" and Sajid Nadiadwala's "Kick". The actor will not have any films releasing this year. However, "Mental" which is a remake of Telugu film "Stalin" is expected to get released in January 2014.

Salman has been showing interest in southern remakes following the success of "Wanted" (remake of Telugu film "Pokkiri"). He has starred in a string of remakes including "Ready" and "Bodyguard", all of which have turned into super hits.

The actor's other upcoming film "Kick" is also a remake of Telugu film of the same name. "Kick" is expected to hit screens in July next year.
