Director Murugadoss, who was hospitalised due to food poisoning on Monday, has been discharged from the hospital.

Murugadoss fell sick while shooting for his upcoming film "Kaththi" in Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai. He complained of uneasiness after which he was taken to the Fortis Malar hospital in Adyar. The director was hospitalised and was diagnosed with food poisoning.

After treatment, Murugadoss was discharged from the hospital. Doctors have advised him to take ample rest. "Murugadoss was admitted this afternoon after a bout of nausea and chest pain. He was discharged within an hour and is now recuperating at home," the director's publicist was quoted as saying by Silverscreen.in on Monday.

Meanwhile, "Kaththi" is shaping up well and the film's shooting is progressing at a brisk pace. The complete shooting is all set to be wrapped soon after which the post-production work will commence.

The film touted to be an action entertainer will have Vijay in dual roles. Neil Nitin Mukesh plays the baddie, while Samantha plays the female lead.

"Kaththi" is one of the most-awaited films of 2014. The film's audio and the teaser launch have been scheduled for 18th September. Several film celebrities are expected to attend the audio launch event.

Music composer Anirudh has worked on the soundtracks for "Kaththi" and he has assured that the album will have a lot of surprises in store for the fans. This has generated a huge hype about "Kaththi" tracks.

The film is gearing up for diwali release in October. The Vijay starrer has been facing trouble from some organisations who have claimed that the film's co-producers, Lyca Productions, have business links with the relatives of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

They have reportedly demanded that the film should not be released unless the producers are changed. However, "Kaththi' makers have denied the claims of having links with Rajapaksa's relatives, reported the Hindu.

There were rumours on the internet that "Kaththi" might change hands from Subaskaran Allirajah of Lyca Productions to another producer. However, the recently-released "Kaththi" posters ascertained that Lyca Productions are still backing the project along with Ayngaran International.
