It's official. The Brits love their royalty and the royal couple, Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton - the Dutchess of Cambridge. The latest news suggests that the two are the world's most influential couple, overtaking Kim Kardashian and Kanye West and even the President of the United  States, Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle.

A recent poll, conducted among 2,000 Brits revealed that the British royal couple was voted "World's most influential couple." They are followed by David and Victoria Beckham and the third place is occupied by the Queen and her husband, Prince Philip. Hollywood's power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie bagged the fourth place whilst the Obamas were placed fifth, reported Mirror.

If this comes as a shock, it shouldn't. The Duke and the Dutchess of Cambridge travelled extensively in the recent past to partake in charity work that included visiting a children's mental health centre, women's prison and more. In fact, Kate Middleton was hailed by many for stepping out and allotting time for charity work despite being pregnant.

Talking about the dynamics that exist in a relationship, behavioural psychologist and relationship coach Jo Hemmings said, "Power couples need to be strong for each other in good times and bad."

The study was conducted to mark the new season of Muppets, in which Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog break up. "Muppets" premieres on Monday, 8pm on Sky1.
