It is not the first time that Kate Middleton has hit the headlines for pregnancy rumours, but this time it could be really happening as her childhood friend has spilled the beans.

The news of her pregnancy came just a few months after her weight gain sparked pregnancy rumours.

Jessica Hay, former roommate and friend of the Duchess of Cambridge, told Australian tabloid New Idea that Prince Williams and the Duchess are expecting their first child.

"They're planning to make an announcement in December. William and Kate are focused on starting a family," Hay told the magazine. "It seems very traditional, but of course they'll be happy with boys or two girls, they don't want more. They've discussed it endlessly and don't want to be older parents."

It may be recalled that it was Hay who revealed Kate's engagement in 2010 and predicted that the wedding would take place in 2011, which turned out to be true.

The Royal couple has been in the news for all the wrong reasons of late. They were photographed topless while holidaying in France a couple of months ago. A few magazines published the photos despite the Royal family's efforts to stop it.

Prince William and Kate Middleton announced their engagement on November 16, 2010, and married on April 29, 2011, at Westminster Abbey.
