Kate Middleton reportedly suffered a miscarriage and lost her second baby, shortly after media reports of her second pregnancy started gaining momentum sometime early this month.

The Aug. 4 edition of Globe magazine reported that Middleton miscarried shortly after her childhood friend Jessica Hay revealed to the Australian media that the Duchess of Cambridge was expecting a second baby.

Ever since the miscarriage, Middleton and Prince William have been a source of support for each other, especially since they had to put on a brave face in public for Prince George's first birthday, reported Celeb Dirty Laundry.

Recently, it was revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are hoping for three children, Middleton is not going to prevent the ordeal of losing a baby stand in the way of expanding her family, the report noted.

Middleton's childhood friend Hay was one among the first to announce that the Duchess was pregnant with Prince George in 2012, and this time around too, Hay was the first to confirm the pregnancy.

"Kate's inner circle are buzzing with the news that she is pregnant," Hay told Australia's New Idea magazine, according to Radar Online. "I've heard it from several different friends of theirs now and they're saying that they think there's going to be an official announcement in weeks."

At the time, Hay said that Middleton has all the tell-tale signs of pregnancy, which included weight gain and a flushed appearance.

"Kate's face is fuller like it was when she was first expecting George and she's been changing her hair, which could be to disguise the fullness," Hay said. "She has rosy cheeks, she's letting her greys show again, and whenever she's out in public she goes to great lengths to hold something over her tummy…"

Hay also said that the royal family would keep the pregnancy a secret until Middleton crossed her first trimester.

"With George, they were forced to tell the world very early on that Kate was pregnant because she was rushed to the hospital with that awful hyperemesis gravidarum at around six or seven weeks," Hay revealed.

Interestingly, Globe came out with a similar miscarriage story back in February 2012, months before the palace confirmed that she was pregnant with Prince George.

At the time, the publication claimed that Middleton suffered a miscarriage soon after Prince William was preparing to leave for his six-week tour of duty as an RAF pilot in the Falklands.

Given Globe's track record, it seems unlikely that there is any truth to these pregnancy and miscarriage rumors.
