Karthi and Nayanthara's Kashmora, which is also spelled as Kaashmora, has ended its first week in the US on a high note. The movie, from its two versions (Tamil and Telugu), has made good collection, thereby making the distributor happy.

Cine Galaxy, which has acquired the rights of Kashmora, has announced that Kashmora has earned $331,000 (Rs. 2.2 crore) in the first week. "#Kaashmora enters into successful 2nd week after collecting around $331k (around Rs.2.2 crs) in 1st week. Its a Complete Family Entertainer With Horror,Comedy,Humour as Its Ingredients Dont Miss It in theaters near you this weekend!" the distributor posted.

Kashmora was released in over 70 screens across the US. It had collected $127,853 (Rs 85 lakh) on the opening day and ended its first weekend at $307,674 (Rs 2.05 crore). The movie had decent occupancy rate on Monday and Tuesday as it raked in $321,100 (Rs 2.14 crore) in five days.

Now, the trade experts are predicting the movie to do good business in its second weekend as the movie does not cater to one particular set of audience. Kashmora has the elements of fantasy, horror, thriller and comedy. Hence, the movie is attracting big number of audience to theatres, say trade experts.

Directed by Gokul, the film is a joint production of PVP Cinema and Dream Warrior Pictures. Nayanthara and Sri Divya are the female leads of the fantasy film.

Meanwhile, Kashmora is doing decent business in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh as well. It is holding well despite facing competition from Dhanush's Kodi, which is a mass film.
