Have you planned your Bollywood weekend yet? Or have you simply decided to take your family to the lovable Hollywood film Mamma Mia 2? There is a choice between three movies of different genres in Bollywood this weekend in theatres - Karwaan, Fanney Khan and Mulk. Which should you go in for? All or one?

One movie has Irrfan Khan while the other has Anil Kapoor and another, Rishi Kapoor. All vetertans in the field of acting. They are aided by bright young stars in Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao, and Taapsee Pannu. Let's take a look at the movies that released this Friday - Karwaan, Mulk and Fanney Khan.

Karwaan:

Directed by theatre person Akarsh Khurana, Karwaan falls into the road trip genre. It is a dark comedy with plenty of emotion that is not in your face. It can be watched with family but would be best watched with friends.

Starring the inimitable Irrfan Khan in one of his best roles, Karwaan also has the attraction of a handsome Dulquer Salmaan who makes his Bollywood debut, as also Internet favourite Mithila Palkar and the beautiful Kriti Kharbanda. It is feel-good movie that opens up your deepest feelings. You should definitely book your tickets for Karwaan! Read: Karwaan movie review.

Mulk:

A movie with a message, a required viewing especially for youngsters and also the old-fashioned thinkers to understand how communal harmony is the need of the day in spite of the terrorist hires from within the Muslim community in India (the theme of the film) and the incidents of lynching in the country (not a part of the film). Mulk is a serious film with a message of peace.

Directed by Anubhav Sinha, Mulk has decent performances by Rishi Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Manoj Pahwa, Neena Gupta, Prateik Babbar, Prachi Shah Pandya, Rajat Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana. One can go for it or catch it on Netflix, Amazon or television later.

Fanney Khan:

While Anil Kapoor's performance is being praised in the film in the title role, Fanney Khan has not opened well at the box office, and neither have Mulk or Karwaan. In spite of a stellar cast like Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao, the buzz about the Atul Manjrekar directorial is not much. It may grow over the weekend thanks to its unique story and the very stars it is toplining.

Rajkummar Rao, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Divya Dutta and Pihu Sand have delivered good performances. It is the story that is a bit weak although based on the film Everybody's Famous. But Fanney Khan can be the best watch to take the entire family to.

Conclusion: Karwaan should be the BEST watch this weekend and will surely bring in numbers at the box office thanks to the good reviews. Mulk and Fanney Khan are also decent watches, with the latter being a good family watch. Take your pick.
