Karva Chauth (Karwa Chauth), a one-day festival celebrated by Indian women to pray for the longevity and good life of their husbands or fiancés, falls on Friday, 30 October.

As part of the festival, women fast from sunrise to moonrise on the fourth day after the full moon during the month of Kartik, according to the Hindu lunisolar calendar.

They break their fast by looking at the rising moon through a sieve and then at their husbands, who give sweets and water to their wives.

The festival is mainly observed in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, parts of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana and Punjab.

Why and how women celebrate the festival in India?

May the sindoor,
Testify your prayers,
For your husband's long life.
May the Mangal Sutra reminds you of the promises that binds you.
May the colour of mehndi prove the depth of your love.
Happy Karva Chauth!

When I say I love you,
It doesn't mean just three words of love,
It means I care for you,
I trust u,
I believe you,
I miss you,
Love sometimes changes the whole life!
Happy Karva Chauth...!!

The moon is shining brightly...
The festive mood is all around...
But you are so far away...
Sweetheart, I miss you so much.
Happy Karva Chauth

A dark cloud of gloom is hovering over my heart,
I am praying for your long life and you are always in my thoughts.
Missing you dearly on this Karva Chauth.

As you worship the Moon God,
and pray for the long life of your husband.
May you be blessed with all that you heart desires.
Happy Karva Chauth
