Karthi is now all set to give Pongal gifts to his fans and Tamil cinema audience. The actor has said that his fans can wait to catch the first glimpse of his upcoming movie "Komban" with its trailer release. The trailer will come to audience on Thai Pongal, which falls on 15 January.

Though the makers had earlier planned to release the movie for Pongal, it got postponed because of various reasons. This, however, did not deter Karthi from pleasing his fans with the trailer release.

"Komban" is a village-based mass entertainer, directed by "Kutti Puli" fame K Muthaiyah. Karthi will be spotted in a rustic look after "Paruthiveeran" and will be seen with a handle-bar moustache and beard. Actress Lakshmi Menon will be seen in a traditional look in the movie and "Manja Pai" fame Rajkiran will play the role of her father.

The makers have roped in stunt choreographer Super Subbarayan to play the villain role. The film also has Kovai Sarala, Karunas and Thambi Ramaiah in pivotal roles.

The makers have claimed that the script of the movie is action-based and Karthi fans can wait for a treat. The movie is completely shot in the village of Ramanathapuram.

The makers have roped in GV Prakash Kumar to compose the music. The cinematography of the movie is done by Velraj and editing is done by Praveen.

The movie had made headline when the Kerala distribution rights of the film was sold at a whopping amount along with Suriya's "Maasss". Though the makers have not yet revealed anything about the amount, the insiders say that it is not surprising considering the popularity of both Karthi and Suriya in the state.

"Komban" is produced by Studio Green and rumour has it that the movie will lock horns with Ajith's "Yennai Arindhaal".
