A shocking incident has emerged from Karnataka's Dharwad, where a 45-year-old anaesthetist was found dead inside his apartment, while his eight-year-old son was discovered with serious stab injuries. The doctor has been identified as Dr Kiran Honannavar, who was found lying in a pool of blood with fatal stab wounds to his neck.
According to police, the incident came to light after Dr Honannavar's relatives failed to reach him for several hours. When family members arrived at the apartment, they found his body inside the house. His injured son was rushed to a private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Dr Honannavar's wife, Dr Priyanka, an ophthalmologist, has been taken into custody for questioning. Investigators said preliminary findings suggest there was no forced entry into the apartment, and only the couple and their son were present inside the flat at the time of the incident. Police are examining CCTV footage and questioning family members as part of the investigation.

Investigators said relatives had been trying to contact Dr Honannavar since Tuesday evening. According to police, Dr Priyanka allegedly gave varying explanations about her husband's whereabouts before the family decided to visit the apartment. Officials have described her statements as inconsistent, though they have not yet announced any conclusions regarding her involvement.
Authorities have registered a murder case at the Suburban Police Station. Police suspect the incident may be linked to a domestic dispute, but the exact motive and sequence of events are yet to be established. A post-mortem examination and further forensic investigation are expected to provide more clarity.
