The Karnataka Second PUC (Pre University Certificate) results were announced at 3 pm on May 11. The pass percentage in the state for the year 2017 is 52.83, which is 4.37 percent lower than the previous year (57.20).
Tanveer Sait, the Primary and Secondary Education Minister in the SIddaramaiah government, formally announced the news at his office earlier in the day. The girls (60.28 percent) have outshined boys (44.74 percent) again.
Udupi (90.01percentage) has secured the first place followed by Dakshina Kannada (89.92) and Uttara Kannada district. Bidar (42.2 percentage) is in the last place.
The 2nd PUC exams were held between March 9- March 29 in 998 centres. Above 6.8 lakh students appeared in the exams in Science, Commerce, and Arts streams. While 3.48 lakh students were boys, 3.35 lakh students were girls.
The pass percentage in science stream is 60.71, commerce is 60.09 and 35.05 in arts.
Srujana N from Tumakuru has secured 596/600 marks in the science stream. Radhika Pai from Udupi has topped the commerce group by scoring 595/600, while Chaitra from Bellary is in the top position in Arts stream with 589/600.
Supplementary Exam & Revaluation
The applications for supplementary exams, which will be held in June-July, and revaluations have to be sent on or before 24 May.
