Karbonn Titanium S9 with 5.5-inch HD Display Launched for ₹19,900

Bangalore based smartphone maker, Karbonn Mobiles, on Friday (5 July) launched the Titanium S9 for ₹19,990 in India.

The new Titanium S9 sports a 5.5-inch IPS HD 1280x720p capacitive touch screen and runs on Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS powered by a 2,600 mAh battery.

Under the hood, the Karbonn phablet houses a 1.2GHz MediaTek quad-core processor with 1GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt memory which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

During the launch, Executive Director, Karbonn Mobiles, Shashin Devsare said, "The Karbonn Titanium S9 is the most exciting revolution to have come from Karbonn till date. The launch of the device initiates our foray into the HD IPS smartphone category wherein we seek to satiate the consumer needs with the best-in-class technological innovations."

"We understand the emergent needs of consumers of smartphone devices which look brilliant and work effortlessly. Thus in this regard, our product innovation is geared towards creating an eco-system of mobile devices, which bring the best of smartphone experience to them," he added.

Karbonn Titanium S9 is expected to hit stores in a few days time. It will be the company's fourth device in the flagship Titanium series which includes - Titanium S1 (priced ₹9,990), Titanium S2 (₹10,299) and Titanium S5 (selling around for ₹11,990), all of which are powered by quad-core processors.

According to reports, Karbonn Mobiles is also pegged to launch Titanium S6 in the second week of this month.

The timing of the Titanium S9 launch seems to be a well-thought move by the company to divert the limelight away from arch-rival Micromax which is expected to unveil the next-generation metal-clad Canvas 4 in a few days time.
