Television actress Ankita Bhargava (Ankita Karan Patel) has been garnering positive response for her new show "Vidya: Ek Kiran Ummeed Ki," which is based on corruption in the education system. Ankita, who plays the role of Vidya on the show, started shooting for the show on June 3.

Recently, the actress posted a video of her shooting for an interesting sequence of the show on her Instagram page. In the video clip, the actress was seen held hostage while the kidnapper threatened to harm her.

"Vidya" marks Ankita's return on the small screen after "Reporters." Recently, Ankita's husband and "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" actor Karan Patel paid a surprise visit to the sets of her show. Apparently, the actor dropped in on the sets of "Vidya" to motivate his wife.

"Vidya" went on air on June 13 on Doordarshan. The show revolves around a girl Vidya (played by Ankita) who gets embroiled in politics in the education system and will focus on how she works in restoring the value of education.

In other news, Ankita made headlines a few months ago when Karan's ex-girlfriend Kamya Punjabi raised quite a few eyebrows at a Box Cricket League 2 (BCL 2) match when she openly expressed her love for the actor. The actress even went on to hug Karan for his team's excellent performance, which left the "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" actor blushing. Kamya also said that she is still in love with Karan, although she doesn't want him back in her life.

Soon after Kamya's shocking statement, Ankita reacted to it strongly. "All I want to say on this bullshit being thrown our way is that this is just a waste of your energies. I would suggest they use their energies in doing something more productive in the future," Ankita had told India Forums.
