Here's some good news for the fans of "The Kapil Sharma Show." The episode, which featured the team of Marathi film "Sairat" garnered massive viewership, thereby making it the top show in the non-fiction category of TRP charts in week 24. The episode also set a record of becoming the highest-rated non-fiction episode of the year 2016, the Times of India reported.

Kapil and his team indulged in a lot of pranks with "Sairat" director Nagraj Manjule, lead actors Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar and the other cast and crew of the film. It had not just entertained the audience and kept them hooked to the episode, but also became popular among the celebrities. This was the first time a Marathi movie was promoted on the comedy show.

It should be mentioned that although "The Kapil Sharma Show," which was launched on April 23, opened on a grand note, it had failed to beat reality show "India's Got Talent" for several weeks. However, recently, the comedy show had managed to increase its ratings and has been at par with "India's Got Talent." But now, with Kapil's show making it to the top slot and setting a record as the highest-rated non-fiction episode this year, it appears like there is no stopping Kapil and his team.

"The Kapil Sharma Show" is considered to be a healthy, clean and fun entertainer for all to watch. The stand-up comedian with his comic timing has managed to grab international fans irrespective of their age groups. Kapil's tongue-in-cheek humour has entertained not only the audience sitting at home, but even the celebrity guests on the sets. With such popularity, no wonder celebs find it the right platform to promote their films.

In other news, Kapil and his erstwhile "Comedy Nights With Kapil" (CNWK) team had a fallout with Colors TV, after which the comedian disassociated himself from the channel. Later, the entire team of "Comedy Nights With Kapil" went on to entertain the viewers in a new show "The Kapil Sharma Show" on Sony Entertainment Television.
