Sivakarthikeyan was in for a rude shock at Madurai airport when he was attacked by Kamal Haasan fans, according to reports.

Sivakarthikeyan had gone to Madurai from where he had to go to Tiruchendur to attend an event along with Kamal Haasan and Hansika Motwani.

Kamal Haasan fans were reportedly upset with Sivakarthikeyan for appreciating Rajinikanth many times but making no mention of Kamal Haasan.

The incident that presumably occured on Sunday, was captured on camera and the video has gone viral.

A section of the media has reported that reports of the "Rajini Murugan" actor being attacked were not true. But the video clearly shows that a man in a blue shirt hitting the actor from behind.

Sivakarthikeyan has never shied away from expressing his admiration for Rajinikanth. In many interviews, he has claimed that the superstar was his big inspiration.

It has to be noted that Rajini's son-in-law Dhanush recognised the talent in him and helped him to grow in Kollywood.

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan has clarified the issue was a small incident and there was no reason to worry. He also tweeted: "With all your blessings I'm perfectly alright. Thanks to all d lovely hearts 4 your greatest support at this moment. Your love makes me stronger. Love you all."

Today, Sivakarthikeyan is a fast-growing star in Kollywood with his last five films becoming hits at the box office. Now, he is gearing up for his next release "Rajini Murugan" directed by Ponram. It was supposed to release for Ganesh Chathurthi but got postponed for some reasons. It will hit the screens next month.
